On the thumb

I came across this user ‘fosterhunting’ while finding my way back to use Instagram which I’ve created my user and left it there without touching for a while. However, I decided to give it a go so I tried to search for people whom I want to follow by using hashtag for something that I’m interested in. I am currently following 36 users which some of them are my friends (outside the Instagram world).

I usually access Instagram app once a day or two and scroll down to see updated photos from my following users. I mostly like what I see from fosterhunting. I think the photos are showing his signature like I could tell whose photos are from by just looking at the shade of colours while no need to see the user name.

fosterhunting

And I just happened to find more about this user outside Instagram and it turned out that he also has Facebook Page, Twitter, and his own website ‘a restless transplant‘.

About

A Restless Transplant is a photo blog I (Foster Huntington) started in 2008. I am currently traveling around North America in a 1987 VW Vanagon Syncro camping and surfing.
It’s a bit surprised for me to know more about fosterhunting than just the Instagram user. He left his job in 2011 and took a trip for surfing and camping by driving around the West (where I think it is the west of US).

His photos can be seen more on his Instagram webpage http://instagram.com/fosterhunting and I think they are pretty amazing. For me, I feel calm every time I look at his photos. They look subtle and minimalist. Less is more…

A Word a Week Challenge – Dawn

Amphawa, Thailand | 2010

Amphawa, Thailand | 2010

Back in new year weekend of 2010, our family went on a trip to Amphawa with my mom’s friend and her family. After we strolled along the Amphawa Floating Market and then sat on the boat to watch fireflies, we went back to sleep at our home-stay and woke up to view the color of the rising sun at dawn.

Where are my Facebook Stickers!?!

When I initially heard of Facebook stickers, I was like …

Line01

And then I …

Line02

Because I’ve liked to use stickers or emoticon in my instant message since MSN.

So after updating my Facebook on iPad and iPhone,

I eagerly sent message to my brother although he was downstair while I was in my bedroom upstair.

Line03

BUT! my Facebook app on both iPhone and iPad doesn’t have Sticker function while my brother’s Facebook app has!

WHY?!?

Line04

WHY? …WHY? … WHY? … WHY? … WHY? …

Line05

So I tried to search for the methods of adding Stickers in my Facebook messenger.

Line06

And I accidentally found this news, Facebook is appealing to its Asian users with messaging, emoticons, and stickers.

Huh??? Yeah, I’m Thai and Thailand is in Asia so I think I’m Asian enough to get my Stickers on Facebook, Right?

(I just knew that Asian users like using stickers or emoticons more than non-Asian users … uh-huh)

Anyway, I decided to uninstall Facebook app and re-install it.

BUT the stickers still not come T-T

Line07

so

so

so

I controlled my emotion and read the details of Facebook app in the Apple App store.

A-Hah! They’ve already said that Stickers will come to everyone soon.  (Meaning not everyone now)

Line08

Oh,

OK,

Got it …

Waiting for my turn.

Line09

All stickers are from Line Application.

One of the good things to be a music lover is that it’s never too late to discover my favourite artists, albums, or songs. And when I meet that certain awesomeness, I would feel like something glowing in my heart while listening to the flowing melodies. Like this time I found Ed Sheeran and his debut album + which was released in September 2011.

He is an English singer-song writer which his debut album was really successful. However, I just got a chance to listen to his songs when Apple had the 12 days free gift-away in last December; and one of the gifts was his 3 Live songs  from iTune Festival 2012. I was totally captivated with those songs especially this song, Small Bump which is about his close friend with the expression of grief over a late miscarriage at five months.

You are my one and only.
You can wrap your fingers round my thumb and hold me tight.
Oh, you are my one and only.
You can wrap your fingers round my thumb and hold me tight.
And you’ll be alright.

The lyrics are so beautifully sad which almost made me cry in spite of never having that kind of experience.

I was trying to buy his CD album from the store in Thailand by ordering it online. However, his album was out-of-stock for all 3 times that I’ve tried to buy his album together with others. I therefore decided to buy his album from iTune Store Thailand. I just got his album yesterday (16 April) and I am unable to stop listening to his album.

All of the songs in this album are amazing. I felt a small happiness in my mind by only first time listening to all songs. I just let myself floating away with the words and sound. I also think that his voice has an incredible force to convey all of the feeling of the songs to me. I like the whole album.

The below music video (song ‘Lego House’) has just been launched in this month (April 2013) by recording Legos to express the same scene as the original one (Released in October 2011). I think the Legos version is great with the way Legos show their feeling. And yep, the important reason is that I love Legos!

I’m gonna pick up the pieces,
and build a lego house
when things go wrong we can knock it down

Words from Lyris of One of these days – A Song by Olly Murs

May I tell you about love

Who doesn’t love a list? So write one! Top five slices of pizza in your town, ten reasons disco will never die, the three secrets to happiness — go silly or go deep, just go list-y.

Daily Prompt: The Satisfaction of a List

Once in a while, I’d like to do the listing for example: year xxxx’s top 20 albums or my most favourite movies. However, most of the time I am quite lazy to list all of those things. Fortunately, I listed these 10 movies in 2006 as the films that made me feel the LOVE. Although, I’ve watched other films after that but they can’t compete these 10 films in term of showing the true love.

lovestories

10. Secretary (2002)

A young woman, recently released from a mental hospital, gets a job as a secretary to a demanding lawyer, where their employer-employee relationship turns into a sexual, sadomasochistic one.

Why? Although their relationship between main characters seems to strange for others, but hey! if they could find each other and their sexual preference are matched so who am I to judge them. I liked the way this film can make me feel love from their unusual relationship.

9. Sur mes lèvres [Read my lips] (2001)

Actually, this wasn’t a Romantic movie however I could detect the implication of love in this film. The movie was about a 30 year-old woman who was working in male-dominant office. She got a chance to hire her own assistant who should be a 25 year-old male. Her assistant happened to know that she could read lips so he asked her to help him steal money from a gangster. There was one certain scene that I could come up with the feeling of love and care, but I couldn’t give it here because it will be the spoiler.

8. 썸 [Some] (2004)

This was a Korean action movie talking about the story of a male detective and a female reporter on one day. The director has the way to tell a story which could provide an idea for me that there was a certain reason for hero and heroine to meet up. The certain reason is called ‘Destiny’.

7. Bridget Jones’s Diary (2001)

To be honest, I didn’t feel love in this film because I was kind of annoyed with Bridget’s behaviour. But there was always a specific scene with melt-my-hear song that could made me fall in love with this movie.

I’ve been searching a long time
For someone exactly like you
Ive been travelling all around the world
Waiting for you to come through.
Someone like you makes it
All worth while
Someone like you keeps
Me satisfied. someone exactly
Like you.
– Someone like you by Van Morrison –

6. いま、会いにゆきます [Be With You] (2004)

I’m quite sure that anyone, who has seen this Japanese film, must finally realize what true love is.

5. 엽기적인 그녀 [My sassy girl] (2001)

This film was one of the first set of Korean movies that went to the international market. Hollywood also remade this film. However, I was perfectly fine with the original one. There was a list in this film too, the 10 rules that shows how main male character attentively cares for his sassy girl.

4. Moulin Rouge! (2001)

I totally loved  the soundtrack of this musical film, and this one dialogue that went straight through my heart without leaving from my mind.

The greatest thing you’ll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return.

3. Le Fabuleux destin d’Amélie Poulain (2001)

Amelie captured my heart since the beginning of the film until the end. It was quite fascinating that Amelie might talk to Nino only one sentence? but I truly believed in their true love. Moreover, its soundtrack was beyond amazing.

2. A walk to remember (2002)

This film is one of my guilty pleasure and I’ve watched it around more than two times. Besides, I’ve listened to its soundtrack quite often. I think the love in this movie can be represented by its quote:

our love is like the wind. I can’t see it, but I can feel it.

1. When Harry met Sally (1989)

I used to have a soft spot for the story of friend changing to be a special one. Therefore, this film truly fell into that category. In additions, the film itself was very entertaining to watch. And the ending scene put it into the first position on my list.

A Word A Week Challenge – Old

awaw-old

Before mp3, aac, wav, flac and so on, there were other ways to listen to songs like CDs, cassette tapes, and vinyl records. CDs can still be found these days while vinyl records are back for collectors or high-ended listeners. On the contrary, cassette tapes has already become obsolete.

I used to own cassette tapes for more than 200 albums along with those mix tapes, which I recorded them for my friends or myself. In the beginning of CDs era, I didn’t have enough money to buy those CDs as I was still an University’s student. So I kept buying tapes. However, I have changed to buy CDs instead of tapes after I started to earn my own money from working. Finally, I stopped buying tapes but I still held my collection of cassette tapes. But my dad told me to get rid of those tapes since I have started my new collection of CDs which takes a lot of space in my room. I therefore had to overcome my clinging to my collection. Eventually, I could do that but I still kept a few albums with me despite the fact that I can’t listen to them as I don’t own cassette players anymore.

Daily Prompt: Press It

Give some love to three blog posts you’ve read and loved in the past week, and tell us why they’re worth reading.
DailyPost

It’s quite hard to choose 3 blogs from many blogs that I’m currently following. However, I will pick the following topics for my answers:

  • I liked a lot of blogs from Fabulous 50’s. I think her blogs are fun to read with the great photos. If I have to choose one blog from her recent posts, I will select this HIKING DAYTON, KENTUCKY because of the last photo which I think the photo shows creativity and fun.
  • Catalonia, Te Adoro by Elena Levon I really enjoyed reading this one as I think she is so gorgeous as well as her life.
  • Being Thai doesn’t mean you would know everything in your country like I didn’t know there is this kind of activity, so when I got a chance to read Thailand: Farm to Fork (via a Cooking Class) on the Outskirts of Bangkok via WordPress feed. It’s quite interesting , and I also like to read various point of views from other people who visit my country.

Although I have to select 3 blogs to mention in this blog, but I still want to say thank you to all of bloggers that I have had chances to view. It’s good to see the different perception from a variety of people. It help me open my eyes and mind.
