I was wondering whether penguins can be considered as birds or not. And I’ve got my answer from Wikipedia which states that penguins are flightless birds. So it’s safe to post their photos as a part of travel theme this week.
Another one that I’m confused about their species is peacock/peafowl. And of course, I needed to rely on Wikipedia to reply to my doubt that they are birds.
Peafowl are two Asiatic and one African species of flying bird in the genus Pavo of the pheasant family, Phasianidae, best known for the male’s extravagant eye-spotted tail covert feathers, which it displays as part of courtship. The male is called a peacock, the female a peahen, and the offspring peachicks.

There were other pictures of birds that I’m sure they can be posted here for the theme.
They were birds I’ve met when visiting two zoos in Australia: one in Melbourne and another one in Tasmania.
